 Roots to Wings:

 Rooting our Children in the Christian Faith, so they can spread their future wings. 

(We  are asking church members to write about how having a Christian  education has benefited them in their lives.)  There will be leaves in  the Church foyer in January along with a box to deposit them in. 

Time:  Doors open at 5:00 p.m, 

Dinner at 6:00 p.m.

 Reading and reading comprehension are foundational skills children need to be successful in school.  We want children to enjoy reading and be successful with it. To make it fun we will be doing a variety of activities and incentives throughout the year.
 One year long incentive we do is the 150% Club. Students read and take accelerated reader quizzes to earn points. If students reach the designated point level, at the end of each marking period, they are part of the 150% Club for that marking period. At the end of the year students will receive a prize for earning their points.  When a student makes it into the 150% Club all four quarters they will get to partake in a special activity. (In the past they have gone to lunch with the  principal.)
The deadline for 150% Club is the last day of each quarter.  There are NO extensions.  Please plan ahead!  
1st Quarter ends 10/28/22

2nd Quarter ends 1/20/23

3rd Quarter ends 3/24/23

4th Quarter ends on 6/9/22  (Last day to take quizzes is 6/2/23)
The last day to take 4th quarter AR quizzes for those who want to qualify for the all 4 quarters 150% Club will be  May 19, 2023!   Last Day to check out books is May 19th.  All books must be returned by May 31st or no report card will be issued.  

First Grade:
